Plus The Top 10 Wedding Tips
|I have never been to a wedding where the MC was so very personable and interactive with the guests. It is very evident that you truly enjoy what you do, and are quite the ‘people person’. You were fun!|

I was born in February 1967 on the North Side of Chicago during the biggest snow storm in Chicago history. I think my first toy was a set of jumper cables. Living in the city was great as a little kid. My mom didn’t drive, so while my dad was at work we went on long bike rides downtown to museums and to go shopping.
We moved out to Elk Grove Village where I went to Junior High and High School. I started out playing the violin in 4th grade. Going into Junior High with wiry hair, braces and pimples while playing the violin was quite a package. I switched to bass in 6th grade and have been playing ever since. I was selected to the Top All-State Jazz band 2 years in a row in High School.
During the summers I went to a music camp called Birch Creek Music Academy in Door County, Wisconsin for 7 summers in a row. It was an incredible learning experience studying with some of the top professionals from around the country. I ended up teaching there my last 2 years. I learned a great deal about the music business from Chicago’s top professional musicians.
After graduating from Elk Grove High School in 1985, I went to Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo on a music scholarship. I majored with honors in Music and Communications. I had many incredible experiences performing both classical and jazz music. My last two years, I put myself through college with the David Rothstein Trio. That hard work taught me a great deal about what it took to be a successful band leader.
During the summers, I performed at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan. We played 7 days a week for 6 hours a night. I got a huge amount of experience during that time. I would play bass with the Jazz Trio, 6 and 15-Piece Orchestras.
One my favorite opportunities was touring internationally with the Glenn Miller and Tommy Dorsey Orchestras. With the 20 Piece Glenn Miller Orchestra, we toured across the nation from big cities to small towns for 45 weeks out of the year. Each musician was selected by national audition. The band played sold-out concerts in Japan and throughout South America. I’ve also performed at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, as well as in 23 other countries with various groups. I’ve really enjoyed meeting so many amazing people and working with so many incredible musicians!
Currently, I live on the north side of Chicago at Diversey and Ashland. Some of my favorite hobbies are photography, working out, bike riding, traveling, movies and reading biographies. I have been a guest speaker for many wedding organizations including the Illinois Videographers Association. I have a very friendly puppy named Goldie who would love to meet you! I look forward to learning about you and meeting with you in person!
