David was great to work with for our wedding on May 15th. He was very organized and helpful when it came to more than just the music. We met with him a couple of times, and really was great putting things together.

He was very responsive to every question we had, and helpful in every aspect.

Once the wedding started the band leader did a great job and really took control of what needed to be done.

Once the music started everyone was having a great time. Even worked with us before and during the wedding with what music we liked and what they played.

They were just great!!

Once we chose the venue for our wedding, we could only have a live band. We had our ceremony & reception at the Hotel Intercontinental, Renaissance Ballroom. After listening to other band's demo CD's, we felt that DRM sounded the best. Upon our first meeting with David Rothstein, we noticed right away his natural ability to establish rapport with the client, enthusiasm, and more importantly his attention to detail & our needs. Many of our guests commented that his band was one of the best live bands they have heard. We agree strongly & were very happy with the music. Though live bands can be pricey, this one is worth every penny.

David and his band were incredible! We got married on New Year's Eve in downtown Chicago, people were begging us to keep them playing longer and it was 2am. Everyone was dancing all night and had so much fun. David was very professional and such a delight to work with. We really felt like he took care of us that night. David really did deliver on everything he promised us. We are just hoping he is still working in 25 years so we can throw a big anniversary party and use them again!

My wife and I were married May 9, 2009, and had a wonderful experience hiring David to take care of our music for both the ceremony and reception. We were able to pick from an extensive song list, encompassing any variety of music we could want to choose from, to create our perfect song list. One of the best parts was being able to pick songs we wanted that the band had not played before.

David and his band were part of our October wedding at the Sofitel downtown. We had the classical quartet, the jazz trio and the 11 piece orchestra for dancing. The ceremony music was great - and the Ceremony Music Director, Alex, was very helpful to my wife before the wedding.

Our hora was amazing, and we had the dance floor packed the whole night even though it was a Sunday. It was a great selection of music for all age groups. We received lots of compliments from our guests, and we had a great time too!

David had great communication and follow up from the very beginning. The band was punctual and professional - on your wedding day its nice not to have to worry about that kind of stuff.

Picking a wedding band is a daunting task:

So much execution risk...How do I know I am making the right choice?...Will they be any good? Do they understand my vision of the experience I am trying to create?

From the start, David Rothstein put all of our concerns to rest. The process he went through in working with us before our wedding was highly professional, illustrative of what he and team have to offer, and was tailored to what we were looking for.

And the reception it self was a huge success! David played the role of a charming emcee and kept the party rocking. We opted for a NY / E Coast style dancing in between courses, and the band could not have pulled off the logistics better!

David went above and beyond what might be expected of a band, learning our first dance, "To Make You Feel My Love"; "The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi" so that I could sing with my fraternity brothers to my bride; "Hail to the Chief," upon introducing the Father of the Bride; and yes, even a polka medly for the extended Germanic family members!

We got married in June this year and during Christmas parties and gatherings this December, family and friends were still talking about David Rothstein!

David Rothstein's Band is amazing!! We just got married on November 27 at The Drake Hotel and walking into the reception with the band playing is something I will remember forever! Their energy and enthusiasm just kept going all night long. We had people on the dance floor until almost 2:00AM! David also personalized our event so well by having the band play my husband and my college fight song! We added the Sinatra Vocalist for a portion of the evening, and he was so talented! I am so happy with David Rothstein and will continue to recommend him to all my friends and family.

DRM was one of the best choices we made during our wedding planning. David was incredibly enthusiastic and excited about our wedding music from start to finish, and took time to really get to know us and what we wanted from the band. My husband and I knew one and one thing only when we got engaged and started thinking about the actual wedding day...LIVE BAND! There was no doubt in our mind that this is where we wanted to splurge, and it paid off! The David Rothstein Orchestra was the very first vendor we booked, before even the reception venue! From my first conversation with David, I was excited! He was enthusiastic and made everything so easy...which is important when you have other things to worry about, like white or yellow wedding cake, poly cotton or upgraded linens...you get what I'm saying (especially if you're in the wedding planning process now!). The music situation was covered! David and his team made the whole process seamless and left us feeling completely comfortable and excited for our big day. They were available any time I had a question or wanted to meet with them. They were interested in getting to know us as a couple and what we wanted our day to feel like, so they could customize our wedding and make it unique to us. David even took to handling a set-up dispute with our venue, just so I didn't have to add another thing to my "to do" list. They did NOT disappoint the day of our event. In fact they exceeded all our expectations! The moment they invited all our guests out to dance, the dance floor was PACKED from then on. As one of our guests said, "You know it's a good party when the dance floor is still packed at midnight when they are turning on the lights!" No one left! They even surprised me and my husband by learning three songs we had requested, but they had never played. They could not have been more entertaining, more interactive, more talented, or more classy! They impressed us all. I would recommend them to ANYONE planning a wedding in the Chicago area, or even beyond (they travel!). You have plenty to do to make your big day special...this is one decision you can check off your list.

When we started to plan our wedding, we decided to make choosing a band our number one priority. We contacted a number of bands in the Chicago area, viewed demos, and met with band leaders. Ultimately, we decided to hire David Rothstein Band, and that was the absolute best decision we could have made. From the moment the band started, all the way to the last song, the band got the entire crowd off their chairs, energized, and dancing like crazy. The band had a really diverse playlist, learned additional songs for us, and did an amazing job of choosing songs that kept the dance floor packed all night long. David's ability to energize and involve the crowd was just amazing...he even got my 81-year-old grandmother out on the dance floor!

My husband and I were thrilled with our experience with David. From the very beginning he was so easy to talk to and I told him several times during the whole process that he was the easiest part and person to work with while planning our wedding! I meant it - weddings can get pretty crazy even if you try for them not to be and David was consistently a person we could count on to be organized and two steps ahead at all times. Fast forward to the wedding - the floor was packed all night!!!

I was a little concerned because it was at Galleria Marchetti, which is my favorite venue in Chicago, but it has an outside area and with the beautiful night we had I was worried that people would mingle outside instead of on the dance floor. This was not the case - the dance floor was packed all night long!!! Our biggest request to David was to make sure that all generations would be on the dance floor so we wanted music that would be fun for everyone and he delivered! The whole band did a fabulous job, they were having fun and it showed! The whole experience was perfect and if you get the chance to work with him, you won't be disappointed!! We are still getting messages from guests telling us how much fun they had and how they were on the dance floor all night long!! David, if you ever read this thanks again for everything!

DRM was an awesome band! Everyone was complimenting us on our choice, and people are still telling our parents that it was the best wedding they've been too in ages. And, that was all the band. They were so energetic and kept great dance music coming. The dance floor was packed all night. Also, David did an awesome job of mcing and organizing the night. It would have been so stressful if we had to take care of the flow of things. David makes sure that your wedding is perfect and goes smoothly. If you want to have a wedding that people remember with enthusiasm, DRM is your band! **The only thing that was kind of off and why I didn't give 5 stars is the band's photographer was intrusive. We had the absolute best photographer and the band had one that showed up and was kind of in our faces. We were not expecting that. In fact, I had to ask my photog who was the guy trying to arrange guests and getting in front of my face. It was weird. And, the one other small complaint we had from a few guests was that, although the band was awesome, the guests felt David was forcing them onto the dance floor with a little too much intensity. But, David knows weddings, and I think he was just making sure that our guests had a great time. I highly recomend using DRM!!!

**NOTE FROM DAVID: The photographer acted completely on his own and was not instructed to interact in anyway with the guests. He is no longer with DRM. The client was given all the photos as extra gift for her AMAZING wedding. My enthusiasm for getting ALL the guests on the dance floor was sincere. Many guests never left the dance floor once they got up out of their seats and even thanked me at the end of the night.

David and his amazing team played our wedding in Feb. 09. Our guests had the greatest time and my wife and I could not have been happier. The dance floor was packed all night and everyone had sore feet the next day. They are fun and engaging and David is the consummate professional as well as just a great guy.

After hiring his band we learned he lived two doors down from my sister and her family and she knew him because he had helped her carry groceries from the car a couple times! His band is incredible and he was by far the best vendor we worked without throughout the wedding process. We can not reccommend David and his team enough. Your search should stop at the top! We couldn't be happier with the performance of David's band at our July 2010 wedding!

We chose the 11 piece orchestra for dinner and had a solo keyboardist for cocktails. David is very professional and his attention to all the important details made for a smooth evening. This band is amazing!! We got married in August 2010 and had the David Rothstein play. They had the dance floor packed from song 1 to the end of the night. People still are calling us complimenting us on our wedding and the band.

David was the utmost professional, and did everything we asked. He worked very well with our hall, and met all our requests.

We would recommend this band highly, and don't be afraid to request any certain songs you want played. David and his band learned three new songs, just to play at our wedding, and played them perfectly!!

Everyone at our wedding loved the David Rothstein Band! A lot of our guests told us that we had the best wedding they had ever been to, which was such a compliment. From day one, David made everything so easy for us as we planned our wedding. We used his online wedding guide to plan our ceremony music and wedding reception songs. We even had a special request for David, and he played Chelsea Dagger as we were introduced wearing Blackhawks jerseys and carrying a Stanley Cup! Even now, a month after the wedding, friends and family are still talking about this amazing band and how so many people stayed to dance until the end of our wedding. The band played a great variety of music and made our wedding a truly unforgettable night!

The David Rothstein Band was fantastic at our wedding. David had two weddings that night, so Jeff Sanders was our band director. He was an amazing MC and musician and the band was outstanding. We had a great time and our guests can't stop talking about the band.

We started with a 7 piece during dinner and expanded to the 10 piece for dancing. The horns and the extra vocalist made the atmosphere and our guests were on the floor all night.

FABULOUS! We used this band for both our reception music and our ceremony music. They provided a string quartet for our church ceremony, a jazz trio for our cocktail hour, a 7 piece band for background music during dinner and then blew us away with the 11 piece band for dancing after dinner. My husband's 80 year old grandmother did not sit down except during the band's breaks and the couple slow songs. They provided the MC, who ensured that the night went smoothly, and one of their male singers was absloutely incredible. Not only did he surprise us all by breaking out the Louis Armstrong voice to sing "What a Wonderful World" for my father-daughter dance, but during dancing, he was down off the stage, in the crowd, dancing and interacting with everyone. Everyone had a fabulous time. There is way too much to tell on this small review. Check out their website for videos. David himself is a great guy--very easy to work with and knowledgeable. I would reccommend David Rothstein Music to anyone!

David and his band played our wedding over Memorial Day Weekend and were just amazing. Our friends and family are still talking about how much they loved the energy of the band over that of a loud and obnoxious DJ. Jeff, the director of our band that night, did a great job of confirming all the little details before the reception began. David and his team are very organized, keeping an updated detailed timeline of the night along the planning process. They will play anything you could ever want and even learned a couple special songs for our Wedding. We used David's bands for the ceremony, cocktail hour and of course for the reception. We had David Rothstein Music play for our wedding in March 2010. We had 2 ceremony musicians (violin and piano) for the cocktail hour, 7 piece orchestra before dinner, and 10 piece after dinner. They were fabulous!

David was very easy to work with and really cared about us and our event. He went out of his way to make sure that things went the way we wanted them to, and to make each member of our families happy. He was very accomodating when it came to discussing the details of our event, and very thoughtful. The music itself was awesome! Our dance floor was packed for the whole night. It was the perfect combination of music and everyone had a great time on the dance floor. David Rothstein music allowed us to have the event we had hoped for!

David Rothstein and his band are nothing but the best in Chicago! When it came to making a decision on my wedding music, it was hands down David Rothstein and his fabulous band. David will customize anything for you - if a song you want is not on their already extensive and enormous play lists, he will write an arrangement just for your wedding!

At our recent April 2010 wedding, it was a smaller event however the dance floor was packed ALL NIGHT! Guests kept telling me the band was AMAZING - if they weren't able to see the band from the dancefloor, they would think it was a professional recording!

To be honest the only time there was not a lot of dancing was when the band took their break and played a few songs off their iPod! As soon as they came back on to play live music after their break, the dancefloor was packed again!

David is a wonderful MC - he takes into account all the special things you want for your wedding. Plus he keeps a timeline and basically makes sure everything happens when it is supposed to. He was great in encouraging guests to dance and have a good time.

I would 110% recommend David Rothstein Music for your wedding or next party. It was the BEST part of our wedding! Please consider this band before EVER considering another band or DJ!

Three words: HIRE THIS BAND!!!

We hired DRM at our wedding and they were fantastic. Not only was David extremely helpful throughout the entire process, but even on the day of. I was so happy I didn't hire a wedding coordinator because David worked very well with all the other vendors & ensured things ran smoothly.

The band sounded fantastic and they are a fun group as well. David will really gauge the audience to ensure people are out on the dance floor. They really were! Also, David arranged several songs for us and they sounded great.

Also, David knew that my husband and I are Iowa Hawkeye fans so he incorporated that into our wedding, which was so thoughtful. Also, following the wedding, he sent us the Sports Illustrated magazine that featured our team on the cover. Incredible! He has so much passion about what he does. Hire DRM - you will not be disappointed.

We were married on October 17, 2009 and they were amazing! The dance floor was packed from the first song until the very end of the night. They learned a couple songs at our request and filled the night with personalization. It was a couple days after the maid of honor's birthday, so David had a birthday card for her and the whole 10-piece band sang happy birthday to her. The lead singer was awesome. Really, they keep their promise that they will keep the floor packed with tons of fun.

Everyone here has written some amazing things about this great band and MC. I will say this in addition to seconding everyone else: DRM absolutely made our wedding. They brought everything together for us, and really helped us feel like we were having exactly the wedding that we wanted. The music was to taste, the Sinatra singer was excellent, the music was great.

What DRM really brings is the great energy and atmosphere and MCing. Absolutely amazing, professional, and exciting. If you want your wedding to be fun, energetic, and professional, this is the way to go. So many weddings can be cheesy or corny because the MC is like that, or is not excited. David made our wedding exciting and fun and intimate and formal all at the same time. I saw people in my family dancing that I never thought would be off their chairs.

The service, the compatibility, and all that other stuff are of course there and above par. I'll leave that to the other commenters. If you have questions, I would just call David; that's what I did and I was impressed from the beginning. We didn't even bother looking at other bands after we found DRM. Thanks again.

David and his band played our wedding over a month ago and we continue to get complements on their performance. The band did a great job of reading the crowd and adjusting the play list to keep everyone dancing right up to the end of the night. The musicians and singers were great and very talented. They also took the time to learn several songs for the mother/father dances which are probably not played often. All in all, David did an excellent job of listening to what we wanted and delivering well beyond our expectations!

David Rothstein Band played for our wedding on 10/02/09. My husband was very unsure about getting a band vs a DJ, he was not convinced that it was worth the cost. But, after meeting with David and seeing that it wasn't just about the music it's about the whole flow of the wedding, we decided to go with the band. We could not have been happier!!! We went with the full horn section and had Lou sing for us over dinner. We could not have been happier!!! We went with the full horns section and had Lou sing for us over dinner. THE HORNS ARE A MUST!!!! We didn't have to worry about a thing the whole night. The band is very professional and has their act together. Well Done.

David Rothstein and his band played at my brother's wedding a few weeks ago, and they did an amazing job! The music was fun and I couldn't believe how much energy the band-members had, they kept playing for hours! Everyone at the wedding was having a blast, and there was dancing for hours, which I think was largely due to the wonderful entertainment. They even played the Beatles song "Hey Jude" for my nephew Jude = )

My husband and I got married on October 16, 2009, in Geneva, Illinois, and we are sooo glad we hired David to help us on our special day. He was the ultimate professional, maintaining regular contact with us during the months and weeks before the wedding, and helping us plan the ceremony and reception afterwards. We used David Rothstein Music for our wedding and could not have been happier with the night! They did an amazing job of getting EVERYONE on the dance floor all night long... They did a great job learning about us and listened to what we'd want to hear... It was like our own personal upbeat concert! They did a great job with the Klezmer portion of the night, getting all of the older guests involved, and they did an amazing job with the mainstream music.

My husband is from New Zealand, so they did a great job learning some NZ music to add to the night and we requested they learn "Land Downunder." They put so much into learning the song that it really made the night. They even brought out a flute to stay really true to the song, which was the talk of the night! It was really impressive.

Tons of our guests went out of their ways to tell us how amazing the band was and that it was the most fun wedding they'd ever been to!If you're looking for a quiet night for your wedding, this is not the band for you... We had an amazing night, thanks to the music. I've never been so exhausted in my entire life!

The music was upbeat; he kept people dancing and he also did a few fun games during the night to break up the hours of dance music. To compliment that, the band was awesome and even came off stage at times to work the crowd. Our dance floor was always crowded and we still get compliments today about the band. Numerous people have come up to us saying how the night started with such energy from when we first entered the reception hall and this energy never died. They are talented and very involved, ensuring that the night goes smoothly and most importantly, that everyone has a good time. David was a true professional from the very first day we met him. His passion and excitement was evident throughout the scheduling and planning process. Our wedding was held at the Hyatt Lodge, Oak Brook, on Friday, July 17th. David put together a string quartet for our ceremony, the jazz trio for the cocktail hour, the 5 piece ensemble for dinner and the 11 piece orchestra for the reception which included "Lou", the Frank Sinatra crooner. The energy level by the entire band was electric and had everyone dancing and laughing till the very end. The performances were over-the-top, and our guests are still raving about David Rothstein and his band!! Not only was he a top-notch vendor, we now consider him a friend!

Very fun wedding band!

We hired David and his 9-piece orchestra for our June 5 wedding and were very happy with our experience. The reception music was one of the things we decided would be a bigger portion of our budget, and I'm so glad we did as it was worth every penny. Everyone had a blast dancing at our wedding--we're still getting tons of comments about how great the band was. David's musicians are extremely talented and professional, and David himself has a thorough understanding of his business. Ultimately, he knows how to get people out onto the dance floor and having a blast.

He also has an arranger on staff and was flexible with our special requests. They let my sister play lead clarinet with the band on the song we selected for our father-daughter dance, which was a surprise for me and one of my favorite memories of our wedding day. I would definitely recommend David to anyone looking for great wedding entertainment.

As far as the pricing, I recommend negotiating with David as he was very willing to work within our budget.

Outstanding Wedding Reception

David was easy to deal with throughout the quoting process and once we contracted David Rothstein Music to perform at our wedding, all deliverables were met on-time. David followed up early and often and this made me feel very comfortable. David even agreed to do a special request song that was not on the list!

We opted to go with the Dinner and Dancing package and I would highly recommend this. The 3 piece orchestra during cocktail hour was amazing and once the doors to the reception hall were opened it was awesome to see a 10 piece band!

David kept the wedding moving and everyone had a great time! Everyone raved about the band and said that this was the best wedding they have ever been to!

We could have had our reception in a corn field and if David Rothstein Music was performing at the reception it would have been awesome.

David Rothstein Music performed at our wedding on April 18. Everybody had very positive things to say about DRM. David was professional throughout the entire process; indeed, we chose his band over two others because we thought he was less pushy and more pleasant to deal with. David has a good sense of humor and is very organized. He helped us understand how the process worked and then of course the big evening he and his band were fantastic. While initially we didn't know what to make of the line dance, many of our friends have remarked how much they loved it and we have awesome photos from it! I heartily recommend DRM for your wedding and look forward to referring him to many, many friends in the future.

My wife and I were married May 9, 2009, and had a wonderful experience hiring David to take care of our music for both the ceremony and reception. We were able to pick from an extensive song list, encompassing any variety of music we could want to choose from, to create our perfect song list. One of the best parts was being able to pick songs we wanted that the band had not played before. The band did a phenomenal job accommodating our requests, and our guests had a great time dancing and enjoying an excellent performance! I would highly recommend David to anyone who wants to have music a cut above the rest for any type of special occasion!

DRM was spectacular. Our daughter's wedding was several months ago (see Erica'a review) but the comments keep coming. While we knew DRM was going to be fantastic, we have been overwhelmed by our guests comments. We had very definite ideas of the flow of the wedding and what we expected of the MC. David was extremely easy to work with, explaining how he would pull off exactly what we wanted. Here we are five months later and our guests are still raving about the band. The ceremony was elegant and the reception was a blast. This was the first time I've ever attended a wedding where the food service was delayed because everyone was having too much fun to leave the dance floor. And as the bride and groom had hoped, most guests stayed long after dessert just to enjoy the band. Thanks for working with the bride on her solo, and thanks for making this truly a night to remember for all of us.

For our November 9, 2008 wedding, we hired the David Rothstein Orchestra and knew from the minute we met David that our night would be spectacular. In our initial meeting, David was so professional and energetic and unbelievably organized. We spoke or emailed regularly up until the actual wedding day, which was something I appreciated. On our wedding night, DRM played the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and I can't express enough how much they exceeded my every expectation. Each musician and singer was extremely talented and, when I walked into the room and saw the 11-piece band set up, I was blown away! This band truly made our wedding night magical with their choice of songs, high energy and endless enthusiasm for each and every piece played. At one point, I looked across the dance floor and saw the horn section playing right there on the floor with the guests! I couldn't believe it! If you are looking for a band for any occasion, the David Rothstein Orchestra comes with my highest recommendation. David is a true professional and has a way of making the stress of wedding planning melt away with his ability to take charge and be that "go-to guy!" People are still talking about how great this band was and I simply can't say enough about them. David, all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you for making our wedding so memorable.

Fantastic Band!!!

DRM played at our wedding on September 20, 2008 at the Chicago Cultural Center and were absolutely fabulous. I do not have a single bad thing to say about them (and I can be a real complainer too!) They provided the music for the entire wedding - ceremony (string quartet), cocktail hour (jazz trio), and reception (jazz trio plus singer during dinner, 7 piece orchestra for dancing) - which was nice because you don't have to worry about coordination issues and have one less vendor to pay/worry about. The 7-piece orchestra was absolutely wonderful - they played all the songs we love, none of the ones my husband or I hate, and really fed off the energy in the room to keep people of all ages dancing. We had aunts and uncles who I didn't even know could dance gettin' DOWN! We had arranged for my husband's cousin to sing a song during the reception, which went flawlessly even without a rehearsal, and the band was so nice they invited her back on stage to sing Respect with them later. People are still calling/writing to tell us what a great time they had and how great the band was. The string quartet and jazz trio were wonderful as well, they just don't get on the glory, sorry guys! Besides being a great band, it's little things that really set David apart from the others. His website is awesome in helping to plan the ceremony music (which I was utterly clueless about). It even has links to clips of each song. He also has a template "schedule" for the entire event from ceremony through reception that helps you plan the sequence of events (how to notify ceremony musicians when you're ready, timing of toasts, cake cutting, dances, etc). I'm pretty sure our wedding would have been a disaster without it. I looked everywhere online for similar schedules too, and found none. David really knows what he's doing, it's almost a science to him I think. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone. Thanks David (and Jeff!), it is truly a night we will never forget.

Best Band for a Wedding in Chicago

My husband and I hired the David Rothstein Band for our wedding on October 11th and both of us have talked about how great the band was for the past three days. The band created amazing memories that we will have for life. Every one of our guests have told us it was the best wedding they have ever been to. The dance floor was packed all night and the only time people stopped dancing was during the band's break. The minute the band started playing again it was like a mob back to the floor and people danced the rest of the night. When the band was done our guests wanted more. They all started chanting, "One more song." I never expected to have this much fun at my wedding. They exceeded all my expectations. David was an excellent MC and kept our night rolling. From the toasts to the cake cutting he took care of everything. The band was setup well before our guests arrived and were never subjected to a sound check and the sound was amazing. It was so amazing that my sister who is getting married in May is trying to get them booked. The band made our night and memories that we will have forever. Thanks for all you did to make our wedding so special!

Better than I expected!

David Rothstein played for our wedding on October 12th! We had a nine piece band and they had the crowd dancing all night. The band definitely made the night a memorable experience for everyone. The best song was "Shout" I think that every single person at the wedding was on the dance floor. They even let guests take the microphone and sing! Everyone at the wedding raved about the band and how great they were! Thank you so much for a terrific night. My best friend just used David Rothstein's band for her wedding this past weekend and it was by far the best wedding reception I've ever been to (not just because it was my best friend!) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The music was incredible, the band had SO MUCH ENERGY and the band really got everyone involved. David was extremely personable and very friendly and he certainly is a pro at weddings! Not only are the singers and whole band really talented, they knew exactly what music would get people up on the dance floor! A couple times during the night, I looked around the room and NOT ONE person was sitting down - they were all on the dance floor! From the moment they called people on to the dance floor, it was a non-stop great time!! I heard several people during & after the wedding saying it was the most fun they've ever had at a wedding. I know that people will be talking about DRS for a long time! highly highly HIGHLY recommend David Rothstein.... I can promise you that you/your guests will have SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!

David's band traveled to our Wisconsin wedding in July. We have never been exposed to live music before at a wedding and we were a bit apprehensive about how to go about finding a band. David's band was highly recommended to us by a good friend who attended a wedding in which they performed. The DRS website was so comprehensive and provide very useful information to help us learn about the band and plan the music for the ceremony and reception. David was very prompt in answering every question we had. We met with him several times and he always put us at ease and guarenteed that our wedding would be an event to remember for all of our guests. The music at the ceremony and cocktail was beautiful and set a wonderful tone for the event. The party really began when the 10-piece orchestra began to play at the reception. From the introductions to the last dance, David was a fantastic leader and kept the momentum going all night. Our guests are still talking about the music and will continue for a long time.

We had our wedding this past Saturday. We hired David Rothstein for the reception music. He was unbelievable. We had such a blast! The band was amazing! Honestly, EVERYONE was dancing. He had asked me prior to the wedding what types of music I wanted, and I gave him a few ideas, but I told him I trusted him, and I wanted him to decide what was best. He exceeded my expectatons. I had people coming up to me all night telling me it was the best wedding they had ever been to. My wedding is going to be talked about for a long time to come, and I know it's because of the band. We got married in June and the David Rothstein band is still getting talked about by our guests to this day! The band got and kept the momentum going throughout the evening and the dance floor was always packed. David's idea to include the "dancing between courses" was definitely worth the extra money, people had a blast and it felt very unique. And, thanks to David, I was not worried once throughout the planning process or the day of because he was so organized and kept all vendors on schedule. One of the best parts was that David and crew helped us to donate our centerpieces to a local nursing home after the reception...they drove all the arrangements over to the home for us at 12am! Service above and beyond!! I was recommended to the band by a family member and I will continue to recommend them to everyone I know.

Most Professional Band!

David Rothstein Music was amazing! My wife and I had to work with many different vendors while planning our wedding and DRM was the glue that kept it all together and was by far the most professional! David is always timely when returning phone calls and emails and he is so reliable! Our MC was Jeff Sanders and we couldn't have been happier! We were hesitant to do the "dancing between courses" at the reception, but it turned out phenomenal! Jeff, kept all of our guests in check and when it was time for the next course he made an announcement and everyone sat down to eat. While eating our meals Lou (Sinatra guy) sang his tunes...it was unforgettable! Pinky ring and all! The dancing portion of the reception was the best. Our lead singer was out on the dance floor singing "SHOUT" and there were hundreds of people dancing and signing along with him! I can't even describe how much fun we had at the wedding. Everyone was complementing my wife and I for selecting such an awesome band. When it comes to wedding bands in Chicago...there's no question, its David Rothstein Music!! I had my wedding at Cafe Brauer and used DRM as my band. I couldn't be happier! The music was wonderful; I didn't want it to end. David was the MC and was a pleasure to work with. If you couldn't tell from David's website, this is truly the greatest wedding band in the country. It was so much fun planning our reception with David. We met several times, and we really got to know each other prior to the event. On the night of our wedding, we knew we were in good hands. David knew exactly what we wanted, and he executed the reception like the pro he is. With this band, you don't just get great music. You get an MC who coordinates all the aspects of the night, and who makes sure it is the best time of your life. And of course, no review would be complete without discussing the music. We have heard from so many of our guests that ours was the best wedding they had ever been to, and we know this was because of the music. The dance floor was packed the entire night. We used David's band for my daughter's wedding and they were wonderful. The dance floor was packed all night. David kept the energy up and his musicians and the vocalists sounded terrific. David was also a great MC. The flow of the special introductions and events was great. We also used David's classical trio for the ceremony and his jazz trio for the cocktail hour. Both were delightful. David was wonderful to work with, helpful and professional. He and his band even learned a special song the bride and groom requested for the first dance. Just a quick note to let you know how impressed I was at your group's performance at Carol and Mike's wedding reception on June 7, 2008 at the DoubleTree in Oak Brook. Being a professional videographer for over 20 years, I've been witness to many bands (and DJs). I have to say that your group really stands out as one of the best I've seen. The quality of the musicians, the flow of the music from song to song-(building to crescendos and then slowing down to let people catch their breath and slow dance with their loved ones)-packed the dance floor to past the scheduled finished time.  I loved how your various singers popped off the stage from time to time to enter the dance floor and really get the crowd going.  Even your audio technician was great to work with-he supplied me with a great audio feed of your band-which will help make the video sound as wonderful as it will look. Thanks for keeping the crowd hopping (and making my job easier)!

FABULOUS!

We used this band for both our reception music and our ceremony music. They provided a string quartet for our church ceremony, a jazz trio for our cocktail hour, a 7 piece band for background music during dinner and then blew us away with the 11 piece band for dancing after dinner. My husband's 80 year old grandmother did not sit down except during the band's breaks and the couple slow songs. They provided the MC, who ensure that the night went smoothly, and one of their male singers was absolutely incredible. Not only did he surprise us all by breaking out the Louis Armstrong voice to sing "What a Wonderful World" for my father-daughter dance, but during dancing, he was down off the stage, in the crowd, dancing and interacting with everyone. Everyone had a fabulous time. There is way too much to tell on this small review. Check out their website for videos. They also have a very informative set of videos explaining the different types of instrumentation and which situations they are most appropriate for. David himself is a great guy--very easy to work with and knowledgeable. I would recommend David Rothstein Music to anyone!

This band was incredible! We had about 230 people at our wedding and the dance floor was rocking all night. All our guests were dancing, including my father who I have never seen dance. David Rothstein was so professional and an absolute delight to work with. He set up an initial meeting which allowed him to assess our personalities and the mood and style of our wedding. David picked the most perfect selection of songs that kept the crowd dancing the entire night. My husband and I never left the dance floor and our guests did not either. David threw in a little surprise that we absolutely loved. The pictures we have of that night are amazing and so many guests are asking about the band at our wedding a year later. If we could get married again just to hire David Rothstein one more time, we would definitely do so. Professional, fun and priced just right.

David Rothstein and band played for our wedding back in November. They did the music for the church, the cocktail hour, dinner and the reception!! They were absolutely amazing and kept the party going all night. The music during the early part of the night was so enjoyable and once the dancing started, our guests, as well as the two of us, never left the dance floor!! The band did a great job of getting everyone on their feet and the music was enjoyable for people of all ages. Three months later, we are still being told by our guests that it was the most fun wedding they have ever attended. We truly recommend David Rothstein Music for any event!

His musicians and vocalists were fantastic. Very impressive. He kept the dance floor full and kept the night on track. We had a few musicians set the mood during the cocktail hour and dinner. Then, Dave blew it out with the "big Band". Haven't had this much fun since college. Just happy I didn't hurt myself! Definitely book these guys for your next function. You and your guests will have a blast.

I received a lot of positive comments about your music, and a lot commented about how much they enjoyed the Klezmer music. I, especially, liked the dance you led, when we entertained the bride and groom, and I also liked how you had people get on the dance floor between courses. Great band

One of the things that was most important to me while planning the wedding was for all of our guests to have a great time, and I knew that needed a great band. David Rothstein didn't disappoint! We danced all night, and have been receiving compliments daily since the wedding. I'm frequently hearing "we loved the horns!" or "we loved the singers!" and "we just loved the band, who were they?!" Hearing what a fun night everyone had made this band a great choice for our wedding.

Guaranteed to have a full dance floor

Our wedding was back in April and guests are still giving unsolicited compliments about the band and music selection at our wedding. David and his musicians were handsdown the best part of a perfect wedding weekend. From the first meeting where we discussed the song preferences and schedule, to the big day where David served as master of ceremonies, David was a complete professional and took charge of all details for the wedding. We did not have a wedding consultant and it was a relief to have David in charge from the minute the ceremony ended and we transitioned into reception time. They provided a string quartet for the ceremony, a jazz trio for the cocktail hour and a full 9 piece band for the reception. Each and every person was amazing. Every guest has commented on how it was the best band they have ever heard live and how it was the most fun they ever had at a wedding - full of class and energy. Thank you David and your counterparts for an amazing day we wish we could relive again!

David and his band were absolutely fantastic at our wedding this past July. His team is professional and courteous. We booked them for our ceremony, reception, dinner, and after-dinner dancing. All of our guests were immediately on the dance floor and the band learned a new song just for us! I would highly recommend David Rothstein Music; it was a pleasure to work with them and I didn't have to worry about a single thing on my wedding day.

David and his entire dance orchestra were a fantastic asset to our wedding this past June. David takes on the role of MC, band leader, trouble shooter, and all around key member of the entire reception. My husband and I were thrilled with our experience. David's electric personality sparkled all night long and our guests were still talking about our music well after we had returned from out honeymoon. My compliments to David and the wonderful group of musicians he has assembled.

Best Band for a wedding!

We booked David Rothstein for our wedding for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception and they were absolutely amazing. The band is very good at keeping with the flow of the wedding and kept people on the dance floor for the entire wedding. David Rothstein himself was the MC for the wedding and does a great job entertaining the guests. They played their first set for an 1hr and a half straight and took one break before finishing up their last set which was nice since a lot of bands will play only 30 minute sets and take multiple breaks which disrupts the energy of the dance floor. We had so many people compliment us about how great the band was. I would definately recommend them to any one!!!

The Best Band Ever

David Rothstein Music is the most entertaining band I have ever seen. The energy that they brought to our wedding kept everyone dancing through the night. David took the time to get to know us and find out what music we like. Also, my wife and I are Dave Matthews Band fans and David arranged "Crush" for us to dance to for our first dance. We have been to several weddings and we would recommend David Rosthstein Music for everyone. Thank you David!
