Thank you DRM for being so instrumental in creating our dream wedding at the W Lakeshore last month! Our guests are still raving about how personable, fun, and high-energy our wedding was. The dancefloor was packed and filled with smiles and laughter – what more could we ask for?! My husband and I got married in September at the Intercontinental Hotel and The David Rothstein Band played at our cocktail hour and reception. My dad and I researched other bands, and THIS WAS THE BAND TO HAVE. We are still hearing from all the guests at our wedding that they had never seen so many people at a wedding on the dance floor, and we have this band to thank. David kept everything in order, and on time. He added many special touches that kept my husband and our guest surprised all night. The interaction between the band, David and every guest there was incredible. Even my 86 year old grandmother was dancing the night away. This band is worth every penny, and we have them to thank for an incredible reception. Every instrument, singer, and musician is incredibly talented and on top of it they all seem to be having a blast. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding.

The David Rothstein Band played at our wedding at the Intercontinental Chicago a few weeks ago, and they were absolutely magnificent! David was a brilliant emcee and leader. We, including our friends and family, had a fantastic time all throughout our wedding. The transitions from our ceremony to the cocktail hour to dinner were flawless. The classical trio captured the solemnity of our wedding ceremony. The jazz trio during cocktail hour provided a great start to an awesome dinner party with their 10-piece orchestra. No matter what age bracket we belonged to, no matter what religion we believed in, no matter what our sexual orientations were, we were all together on the dance floor dancing the night away. It was a wonderful world. We could not have asked for a more perfect evening. The music and the energy that David and his band had, provided us with a lot of love, fun, and beautiful memories: a truly unforgettable evening. We specifically enjoyed it when one of the singers came on to the dance floor and held the microphone out for certain individuals to sing, which eventually ended up to the whole dance floor singing the song. We also enjoyed the dance game that David led where everybody participated. We saw everybody smiling and doing their moves. It was super fun and very touching to see all our loved ones enjoying themselves with the music. A lot of our guests called, texted, and emailed us and our parents to let us know that ours was the best wedding they’ve attended. Having David Rothstein Band play at our wedding was definitely one of the best choices we’ve made. Wiith his jovial, kind personality he was a great emcee as well making seemingly mundane announcements (ie. please turn your placecards over to assist the servers) much more interesting! It was also such a sweet touch that he bought a plate for all the guests to sign so much brother and my new sister-in-law can sweetly remeber the event (a detail that we missed). My mum mentioned he was great to work with and when the full band arrived for the dance with its lively singers we truly enjoyed the music so much so that my parents that never danced at my wedding six years ago (I had a classical string quartet) were out on the dance floor. Even though I’m five months pregnant, I couldn’t resist heading out either (even though I dread dancing!) or my husband with our four year old daughter! My uncle who had flown in just for the reception from India for a short 24 hour visit truly had a blast.

Absolutely amazing!! My wife and I hired David to come play at our wedding and our wedding is still being talked about! We met David and he set up the entire night from beginning to end. Everyone one asked what side of the family David was on! He takes his work to heart and we are so happy we found him! He took the night and made all about my wife and I, he found out what we are about and translated that to a way that really hit home. HIRE HIM NOW!!!!

We recently got married and was having a hard time choosing a band that would be just right for our big day! After meeting with David I knew that David Rothstein Music was the right band for our wedding day at the Drake! He individualized the music and ambiance that we wanted and was very personable to to exactly what we imagined! The music was great the day of, from the saxophone and piano at the cocktail hour to the 12 piece orchestra during the reception! The dance floor was packed all night! Hiring a band for your wedding over a DJ is worth the cost. David and his band played at our wedding on 9-10-11 at the Intercontinental, the dance floor was packed all night. Everyone raved about Frank Sinatra. Everything was extremely personable and we loved the fact that the entire band got involved with all the guests. We had people calling us the next day raving about the band, it sets the mood for the entire night. People of all ages hit the dance floor all night and didn’t want to stop. David and his band are very accomodating and easy to work with, I would highly recommend this band to anyone, it’ll make your wedding a night you’ll never forget!!!

Wow!! The biggest compliment we’ve gotten from our wedding was “Oh my gosh, that BAND was SO Good!” That pretty much sums up the night. From the second we walked in, to our good friend singing our first dance, to my husband and I performing together on the stage…it was the ultimate celebration. The night wouldn’t have been the same without your band and we definitely would’nt have had that many people on the dance floor with a plain old DJ! OK…… So I know hiring a band for a wedding or event is expensive and some of you are wondering if it is worth it. Well I can tell you if you hire this band IT IS!!!!!! David and his band played at our wedding July 30th and they were suberb! My Dad and I decided we were going to sing a duet together instead of doing a father daughter dance and David was so accomodating. They learned the somg and played it perfectly when my Dad and I sang. It was the hit of the party! David was always super quick to answer any questions or concerns I had and was very kind. “My fiance and I knew that one of our biggest priorities for our wedding was getting the best possible band – a great band makes for a fantastic and fund wedding. We did research into Chicago area bands and David was by far the most helpful and responsive from the start. Our timing was great because soon after we spoke with him we were able to see the band play live at a wedding event – they were awesome and David was so great! “My husband and I had the privilege of hiring David and his merry band for our wedding, in May. The band was amazing.

Music was one of the areas where my husband and I spent a lot of time ‘discussing’ our options; circling around the topic of DJ vs. Band vs. combo vs. BUDGET.

Here are a few of the reasons that we initial decided on Dave Rothstein Music:

His rave reviews – which seemed too good to be true… but I can say, I now understand where everyone was coming from!

His professionalism – During our first meeting, which he graciously accommodated early on a Sunday morning, to fit our schedules, he was prepared with examples, paperwork, and videos to guide us through the available options and help us create a viable and fitting musical program to match our wedding style. (To my husband’s delight, Dave quickly ushered us from one Mac product to another displaying videos on a large mac desktop and then demonstrating his unique set-list approach on the iPad – this alone was enough to win over my husband!)

We did have a few concerns prior to/while booking:

The costs – I have to admit, I did experience a moment of sticker shock. It really was a commitment to spend what we did on music, and we didn’t make the decision lightly. After receiving David’s quote, we had to sit down and figure out what was really important to us on our wedding day. Through our mental review of weddings past (both great and, unfortunately, some really bad) we realized that music was the determining factor in most cases; thus, convincing us to commit.

Will a band really appeal to all our guests? Will people dance? – My biggest fear was that no one would dance; we would spend all of this money on a fancy band and people would be wishing they could plug in their iPods and put on dance hits. David quelled this fear a little by showing us videos of prior weddings and the packed dance floors. I was still hesitant (and preloaded my ipod – just incase… needless to say, it was not needed!)

Overall review – I couldn’t have been happier with how everything turned out! I will recommend Dave Rothstein Music to all of my friends and family!”

Early in the planning stages of my son Jason’s Wedding, he called to tell me to check out drsmusic.com. Jason and his fiancee had just met with David Rothstein, and my son was impressed because he said David was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and personable. They not only liked David immediately, but David Rothstein Music, Inc. has an extensive list for song choices. Jason continued to be impressed with succeeding meetings and phone calls he had with David. “Finding a great band was one of our first priorities. We interviewed 2 different bands in person, and talked to several on the phone and decided to go with David Rothstein. He is very personable and listened to what we wanted at the reception.

We had a bilingual Spanish/English crowd and music in both languages was vital. Rothstein and his music director were able to compose two songs for our first dance and meld them together, starting with Spanish and transitioning into English. The lyrics in Spanish were not quite right for the song I picked, but they are not a Spanish speaking band, so the did a great job putting it together.

We gave them Spanish songs to play during their break and they took care of making sure the music was always flowing, both live and during the break. The dancing didn’t stop and everyone had fun. Rothstein was available to talk and take feeback during the planning if we had questions or concerns. Bands do not come cheap, but we knew this was the price to pay to make it come together.”

“My father-in-law found David Rothstein on-line and flew them out to our wedding in Beaver Creek, CO sight unseen. They could not have done a better job! David took time to get to know my wife and I via email and phone conversations so that they knew what kind of music we liked and wanted the band to play. They did a great job of emceeing the night and even added a special Colorado mountain touch by bringing a ski helmet to the reception for all of our guest to sign (my wife and I are big skiers). The band also had no problem learning the relatively obscure songs we picked for our first dance, the father-daughter dance, and the mother son dance.

We have had multiple guests tell us after the wedding that it was the best wedding band they had ever heard. We had two dance floors and roughly 150 guests. I would say that both dance floors were completely full 90% of the time and the majority of our friends danced the entire time the band played.

“David promised us and our guests that this would be the best wedding they’ve ever been to, and he lived up to that promise. Before our July 2, 2011 wedding, he worked with us to be sure that the evening would reflect us and our vision. We had a large wedding, so David suggested doing “Dancing Between Courses.” I had never seen this done before and was amazed when the dance floor was full from the minute the first song was announced until the end of the last one.

David kept the night full of surprises, like coordinating with my husband ahead of time and arranging for him to play a special song he wrote for me on the piano and getting our guests up to do a funny line dance with all types of crazy steps and movements…it was hilarious for us to watch and got just about everyone out of their seats. David kept things moving well all throughout the evening, and so many people commented on how fabulous the music was.

We wanted our wedding to be one that would be remembered, and with the entertainment provided by David Rothstein Music, we know that will be the case.”

“My boyfriend and I went to a friend’s wedding in October 2010. My parents also attended the wedding and we loved the band that played at the wedding reception that evening.

When my boyfriend and I got engaged a few months later, we both said, “I wonder if the band that played at our friend’s wedding in October is available to play

My mom and I immediately contacted David. We set up a meeting with him and did not meet with or contact any other wedding bands. After meeting with David it was very easy to make the quick decision to hire David Rothstein Music to play at our wedding on July 2nd, 2011! We loved meeting with David and were so excited that David Rothstein Music was also available to play at our wedding! It was one of the easiest planning decision that we made and we of course were not disappointed!

The band did such a phenomenal job playing at our wedding reception that the Director of the museum that we held our reception at told us she had never had that many guests left at the end of the evening than she had at our wedding! I know we owe it all to the band! Also, my husband and I moved to San Diego right after our wedding due to a job transfer. David was so thoughtful and gave us a book on Grilling and a book all about San Diego. A number of our wedding guests signed both books and they are one of our most treasured gifts from our wedding!”
