David put so much attention to detail and care into our wedding, everything from the band, song selection, MC work, and communication was top notch!
Everything went so smoothly because David is incredibly attentive and sincere.
If there was ever a problem, we never noticed – he really does put 100% of his time and effort into each client.
Not to mention the music itself, which exceeded our expectations.
The singers and musicians were so talented and engaging, in key moments our wedding party stopped dancing mid song to admire sudden guitar solos or sustained vocal notes.
Whatever I heard through their videos was only a fraction of how great they sound in person. 10/10 band, I don’t say that lightly.
David and his team were some of the most talked about people our wedding.
They even learned to play our custom song requests! DRS Music is a one of a kind talent that puts the rest of the industry to shame.

GOT THE ENTIRE CROWD UP!
DRS Band was hands DOWN the best band I’ve ever experienced at a wedding! Not only was the music incredible, but David is truly phenomenal at what he does—he has this unique ability to get the entire crowd up and dancing in such an organic, natural way.
One of the most memorable parts of the night was when he had everyone get on the dance floor for a couple of songs before dinner. I’d never seen that before, and it completely set the tone for the night! AND I CANNOT forget about the bongo player. He didn’t just play—he lit the crowd on fire, weaving through the dance floor and pulling everyone into the experience.
Honestly, when I die, I don’t want to come back as a rockstar or a movie star—I want to come back as the bongo man. As a guest, I can’t remember many moments when I wasn’t on the dance floor. DRS Band made the wedding unforgettable, and I cannot recommend them enough!

When researching all the different bands out there, DRS Music stood out to us because David showed us videos from previous real weddings so we could see what we were really getting.
He said “I guarantee you all your guests will come up to you after the wedding to tell you that was the most fun they’ve ever had at a wedding” – Turns out to be true and more!!!
Everyone said how great the band was how the dance floor stayed packed the entire night.
David as the MC brought the energy that our wedding needed. Musicians interacting with the guests on the dance floor throughout the night made it so personable and memorable.
David really took the time to get to know the both of us which created a setlist to our liking.

We truly cannot say enough amazing things about David and his team! From start to finish, they absolutely blew us (and our guests) away.
One of the big reasons we chose DRM was because of the care and time that David took to truly get to know us. On our first call he was asking about US, not just our style, our vibe, and what mattered most to us on our wedding day. From the first conversation, we felt like we were in the best hands, and that personal touch came through in every moment of the night.
We had a violinist for our ceremony, a jazz trio for the cocktail hour, a full band for the reception, and a DJ with live sax for our after-party (they ALL crushed it). The transitions between each part of the day felt effortless and perfectly timed, keeping the energy exactly where it needed to be.

As the Father of the Bride, I thought that DSR Music was the best and that the music helped make the wedding reception a great and memorable one.
The band members and vocalists are so talented and energetic in all genres of music making each song fun to dance to. The dance floor was packed all night, and we received compliments for weeks about the quality of the band and how much fun the wedding was.
David Rothstein does a great job as the MC for the night but the benefits of using DSR start long before the wedding day. David takes the time to get to know the wedding couple and their family, understand what is important to them at the wedding, learn the type of music they are interested in hearing, and provide special touches for the bride and groom. I think so highly of DSR Music that I used them for my oldest daughter’s wedding in 2016 and my niece used them as well.

DAVID IS DEEPLY INVESTED IN HIS COUPLES
My husband and I got married 4/12/25 at the Hilton. We were both very busy during the planning process, have been to a million weddings together, and are very passionate about our favorite musical artists and albums.
David was recommended to us by our planner, and we immediately hit it off with him. He is so kind, deeply invested in his couples and their events, and takes great pride in his work and his company.
He shared footage from other weddings, promised to learn any and all songs we sent them, and guaranteed a packed dance floor all night.
He was thoughtful in getting to know us and our families, practiced pronouncing everyone’s names to perfection, and donated all our flowers to a nursing home the next day.
So many of our guests came up to us throughout the night and told us they loved our band and our music selection.
We had a piano player and a violin playing the music we hand-picked for the ceremony and a jazz trio to elevate the ambiance during cocktail hour.

DRS CRUSHED AT OUR WEDDING!
We are now two months removed from our wedding on September 1st – enough time to decompress and see many of the friends and family that attended the wedding.
The two constants we have heard from every person who was there: “you guys got lucky with the weather”, and “WOW, that band was amazing!!” My wife and I totally agree. DRS Music absolutely crushed it at our wedding.
We had initially heard about DRS Music from one of my groomsmen, who attended a cousin’s wedding at which DRS Music played. He gave a full endorsement, and we were on board. We reached out to David Rothstein well in advance of our wedding and he responded right away. We were on board.
The process for preparing for the wedding with David was great. David is personable and charming, and you can tell he cares a ton about his clients and understands how momentous a day it was to be. The DRS Music library of songs is HUGE. Even still, I had a special request for our Mother-Son dance, and the band learned it and played it just for us.
On top of that, my wife and I did a special “Parents” dance involving the myriad step parents in our family with a unique medley song that David helped put together. And again, it was executed beautifully.
When it came to the actual dancing – man, what can be said. The band crushed. Every musician was talented and got a time to shine. They played the hits, and some up-tempo renditions of slower songs that were super creative. Our friend hopped on the mic for a song, and the lead singer was happy to cheer her on. Nearly every guest stayed til the final song of the night – no one was willing to leave! They were that good.
David played a wonderful MC for the night; gracious and funny throughout.
Altogether, DRS Music blew everyone away and made our day that much more incredible. Nothing ruins a wedding like a lame band, but nothing makes it unforgettable like a great one like this. I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone doing a wedding or other event in the Chicago area. 10/10.

FLEXIBLE AND PLAYED ALL OUR REQUESTS
We got married on August 17, 2024 at The Abbey in Fontana, WI. The David Rothstein Band was a preferred vendor for The Abbey. While the band was twice our original budget toward music, it was 1,000% worth it. David Rothstein is communicative, responsive, and detail-oriented. The band was so flexible and played all our special requests.
During the night, I pulled David aside and mentioned my friend’s 30th birthday was the day before and I’d forgotten about it. Right away, he teed up the band to play “Dancing Queen” and dedicated it to my friend. She was so touched!
Throughout our planning process, he got to know Dan and me and realized Billy Joel was one of our favorite artists.
As a wedding present, the band presented autographed sheet music for “New York State of Mind,” given Dan and I met in New York, and an autographed photo of Billy Joel and asked our guests to sign the back of each frame. They’re now hanging in our living room and are a perfect reminder of the best night of our lives!
We’d recommend DRS to ANY individual looking for a total banger of a party!

We couldn’t have been happier with the experience. I wanted live music for most of the wedding but knew I wanted a DJ for the danicng. This was the perfect set!

Working with David Rothstein Music was a dream! He is so responsive, professional, flexible, and attentive all while being a genuine showman.

I was wearing two hats at this wedding Mother of the Bride and wedding planner. I’m typically just the wedding planner, but this one I got to be both, so it was extra special. David was amazing from start to finish. He was easy to work with and willing to go above and beyond his job role to make sure we had the best day possible! Not only did david deal with a million emails from me changing my mind, but he also helped us a lot by providing advice during the planning process.
I would say that my favorite part about work with David is that he’s very attentive to the audience. If he notices the crowd isn’t reacting to the music he will help correct that to get people back on the dance floor.
We had a NYE wedding and David’s band kept everyone dancing until 1am! The talent that is in this band is absolutely insane – they kept everything so upbeat the entire time and were interactive with the crowd as well. We received so many compliments on the band and I truly think they made a huge difference in how much people enjoyed the wedding.

Not only is David the real deal, but his band gets the dance floor packed!! We have had so many compliments on how awesome the band/ DJ combo was.
He even went as far as to get us a wonderful personal gift for our guest to sign AND remember our furry baby ( who was always barking on our zoom calls Lol) and get him a gift as well!!

“Calling this a wedding band doesn’t even do justice, it is a musical experience beyond what I’ve ever seen at an event! Their talent is out of this world and David will work closely with you to have THE most perfect and curated experience.
We had a non-traditional wedding gala that we wanted to be musically-forward, and David himself put together the most ambient flow and was the perfect MC to deliver on it.
We had a violinist greeting guests, a jazz trio during cocktail hour, a serenading violist during dinner, and finishing with an 11-piece orchestra (highly recommend upgrading to get the additional brass instruments!!).
Even down to the small details, David had the band wear black bow ties to fit our theme and made sure even little request was accounted for.
Beyond the talent of the band, a great feature is that the band covers a wide range of music and will take requests to learn new songs so you’re never stuck with the usual top 40s wedding songs.
Working with David Rothstein band is the most fun and refreshing experience! Couldn’t recommend more highly.”

“WOW! David Rothstein Band exceeded all our expectations at our wedding. If you want a packed dancefloor, amazing talent, and a fun time, then you should book DRS! The vocal talent of the band is UNREAL! At one point, the sax player came into the dance floor and pumped everyone up while the band played SHOUT! They were interactive and I have never seen another wedding band do anything like this before.
The range of talent from the DJ, the drummer, sax player and the singers was UNREAL – we have never seen anything like DRS before and are truly blown away by how talented they are. The number one thing we were complimented on was how great the band was – guests told us they felt like they were at a concert! My number one request was for a packed dance floor and DRS delivered! David gave us really great advice to make sure we got exactly what we wanted at our wedding. Planning with him was so easy – he always answered our emails in a timely manner and was willing to jump on a call whenever we had questions.
His team took every song request we had for both the ceremony and the reception. We requested the horah and it was so much fun! David kept the energy up – I think we went for almost 10 minutes and guests said it was the best horah they’ve seen!
Additionally, David spent time getting to know us to make sure that our wedding was special and personalized. At our reception, he surprised us with a custom gift – two IU pickleball paddles since we love playing pickleball and both went to IU! All our guests raved about this and thought it was so unique.
Guests signed the paddles and we will cherish this gift forever. As soon as the dancing started, the energy in the room was electric! We danced all night long with no breaks – everyone kept saying it was the most they’ve ever danced at a wedding and they were sore the next day – a sign of a great time!
We are so grateful our venue recommended DRS and can’t imagine our wedding without them! Run don’t walk to book them, they’re amazing!”

“David Rothstein and his band were incredible! We did the violin and guitar duo for our ceremony, the jazz quartet for our cocktail hour, and the 10-piece band for the reception.
From the beginning, David was actively involved and responsive in helping get ready for the big day. He and his team were willing to learn any number of songs for our wedding. We really appreciated that they took the time to learn some of our favorite songs, which made for a special evening. They also had an unbelievably long list of songs they already know and regularly play, which allowed us to pick out some of our favorites to give them a sense of what we liked.
David did an excellent job MCing and kept all our guests excited and engaged. The band did an awesome job of keeping our dance floor packed all night long, which was exactly what we wanted! They played off the crowd and provided a fun mix of popular and classic songs, including slow songs and party hits that keep you dancing.
David and the band even got us a very sweet and personal wedding gift based on our favorite sports team and our dog. Throughout the evening and afterwards, we heard from so many of our guests about how great the band was! They really made it a night to remember and we are so grateful!”

HIGH ENERGY ALL NIGHT!
David and his band made for my son’s wedding reception. The energy they brought made this a The dance floor was never empty and everyone is talking about how great the band was!
David went out of his way to make the evening wonderful. I was so impressed that he made a point to introduce himself to me prior to the ceremony and asked if we had any special requests.
The enthusiasm from the entire band never wavered throughout the entire reception. We didn’t want them to stop at the end of the evening!
The music for the ceremony and cocktail hour were perfect as well and added that extra special detail that can only be found with live music. I’m hoping David will play at my other son’s wedding someday. You won’t be disappointed using them! Thanks again for one of the best nights of my life.

THE BAND MADE IT UNIQUE
If you want a wedding band that truly makes your wedding day unique to you and your fiancé, David Rothstein Band is the way to go! The band is incredibly talented and so kind! We danced the entire night to a variety of amazing music with incredible musicians.
From the beginning meetings with David, we could tell that he was a professional and had been orchestrating wedding receptions for a long time. We felt confident in his skillset and vision for how the night would unfold. David walked us through the “flow” of the evening and shared with us Google Docs to fill out with all of the information that he would need to make sure that his announcements throughout the night were on point.
David serves as the MC for the band so not only is he making announcements throughout the evening (dancing time, eating time, first dance, toasts, etc.), he is also communicating with the other key vendors for catering and day-of coordination so that the entire evening is synchronized.
In the months leading up to our wedding, David worked with the band to create a customized composition of our first dance song. We chose a very non-traditional bluegrass song and the band truly made it unique, romantic, and our guests (especially the ones who knew the bluegrass piece) were in awe.
Our wedding night shared the wedding anniversary of a family member– David was able to find out our family members first dance song and they played it special for them to have their own dance.
DRB also surprised us with a gift for all of our guests to sign throughout the evening which was a special touch. This is one example of how David truly gets involved throughout your wedding and wedding planning process.
David was able to keep the crowd engaged throughout the evening, brought a bubble machine onto the dance floor, the band played some of our favorite songs, and he had a very high energy!
If you prefer to have an MC/Band/DJ that is more “behind the scenes” rather than an active part of your wedding day, then perhaps DRB isn’t the best fit. DRB is a front-and-center vendor that truly brings the dance floor alive and brings incredibly special and personalized touches throughout the wedding evening!
Having DRB at our wedding was a great investment and we are so grateful that they were able to share their talents at our wedding.

The vocals of the singers literally brought people to tears they were so beautiful. The musicians involved the crowd during dinner and on the dance floor. I could not speak more highly of David Rothstein Music. My husband and I hired them for our May 2023 wedding in Chicago. They were one of the absolute best decisions we made for our wedding. We knew from the beginning that we wanted to invest in a band and to “do it right.” After looking at so many glowing reviews, watching YouTube videos, and talking with David for almost an hour about what we were looking for and what he could offer, we booked him quickly before someone else could snag our date! We are SO glad that we did. We ultimately went with the classical trio for our ceremony music, jazz trio for cocktail hour, and 10-piece band + DJ for the reception!
Throughout the entire planning process, David was right there by our side. His enthusiasm, expertise, and talented group of musicians are truly unmatched. We had so much ease going into our wedding day knowing that he had our backs and that no matter what, we and our guests would have a blast on the dance floor all night.
David really listened to our desires and helped us craft a reception that emphasized who we are as a couple. We gave a very long list of songs we wanted to hear and they were able to hit the vast majority of them! David was an excellent MC, helping the whole night flow seamlessly. He also gave us a surprise sentimental gift that all of our guests got to sign and donated some of our florals to a nursing home the next day! These are just examples of the care and attention he gives his couples.
The band was simply awesome. We had a packed dance floor all night long- exactly what we wanted and envisioned for our reception! We have heard from countless guests that it was the best band they’ve ever seen at a wedding. The videos are so great but truly don’t even begin to capture the energy in that room.
The additional ceremony music package also worked out great and David provided a microphone for us to use. The musicians were so flexible on what turned out to be a typical Chicago spring day, when we were unsure whether or not we were going to be able to have the ceremony outside as planned, or have to relocate.
We could not recommend David Rothstein Music enough. Do yourself a favor and hire them for your wedding or event!

This is the second wedding we booked David & his band for. My sister had them back in October of 2021 and then my fiancé and I knew we had to book this band again for our wedding in May 2023.
The dance floor was PACKED the entire night. I had people coming up to me saying they’ve never experienced that at a wedding before. The musicians and singers were top notch and David was a terrific MC.
I am suggesting him & the band to all of my friends and anyone who asks for a recommendation for live music at their wedding or event. 10/10 !!! Book David & musicians you will NOT be disappointed.

Working with David and his team was the easiest part of our wedding planning! My husband and I knew that having great music was the top priority for our reception and the band certainly delivered. From the first day we inquired about David Rothstein and band, he called us literally within the hour to have a conversation. From that point on there was constant communication through phone, email, video calls, and text to finalize all the details about our wedding day. Using his extensive experience from performing at weddings, we were able to draw up the perfect timeline of events.
We didn’t give them a lot of direction as to what we wanted played and the best part was that we didn’t need to! His band read the room and changed up music as needed.
The band was all of our guest’s top compliment and so many people stayed later than we would have expected because of it. David’s energy and enthusiasm kept everyone excited and having fun the entire night. From the announcements, speeches, and traditional songs, David controlled it all and made sure it was seamless. A week before the wedding we changed up the mother/son dance and David acted like it was no problem and had an arrangement that was perfect. He was so flexible and ALWAYS available to answer any questions.
One of our groomsmen got excited and wanted to sing a song late in the night. David handed over a mic, turned down the volume, and let the groomsman “sing” his heart out while the band took over. Our guests loved it and it will always be a great memory. We LOVED getting pictures and videos from him the night after our wedding. Receiving those was the best surprise since professional pictures and videos take so long to get back.
My husband and I are huge Notre Dame fans and David presented us with a Notre Dame football signed by Rudy. All of our guests signed it and we will treasure it forever. We truly have NOTHING bad to say about our experience with the David Rothstein Band and would recommend David Rothstein and Band to anyone and everyone! Absolutely the Best Band We Have Ever Seen!

David and the band were fantastic! We spoke a lot with David leading up to our wedding and he never hesitated to take the time to answer any questions or discuss any concerns we had.
He helped us with the cutting of our first dance song so it wasn’t too long. He provided a smooth schedule throughout the whole evening and helped us KEEP our dance floor packed all night long! David took the time to get to know me and my husband and gifted us with a very personal gift for us to display in our home.
The musicians were absolutely outstanding! The voices we heard throughout the night were out of this world. My husband and I see about 20+ concerts a year so having live music was very important to us.
David and his bandmates were excellent and we hope to hear them again in the near future!

GOT EVERYONE DANCING
I love live music and knew I wanted a band versus DJ for my wedding. I was recommended DRM and am so happy with how the night went.
David scheduled a phone call with me to go over the different options we had for our wedding.
We went with a package that had a classical duo during our ceremony, jazz trio during cocktail hour, and a 10-Piece orchestra during the reception with David as the emcee and a DJ too.
During the planning process, David had a ton of availability to meet with us and answer any questions I had.
His band was able to learn new songs for our wedding and he had tons of suggestions for how our night could run smoothly.
The ceremony director, Alex, was able to take all my notes and help my ceremony vision come to life.
The musicians learned a song on the piano, and they were able to have my step sister sing the processional. The timing was perfect and it played out exactly how I pictured.
The reception dance floor was packed all night long! The band played old songs, new songs, etc. The perfect combo to get everyone up and dancing.
They even surprised my husband and I who are both teachers with a chalkboard for guests to sign, what a great memory!
Professional pictures and videos take what feels like forever to come in, but David had taken lots of behind the scenes videos and uploaded them to a YouTube page the next morning.
It has been so fun going back and reliving small parts of our special day!
DRM played such a huge part in making our night memorable and so much fun, I highly recommend!

“David Rothstein Music is simply amazing. From our very first conversation, we immediately noticed how detail-oriented, organized and professional David and his team were. David is a wonderful communicator- incredibly prompt and responsive, which was so appreciated during the wedding planning process.
David would always answer our emails or texts within minutes/hours- never ignored a question, comment or message. He was always open to having a phone conversation with us, even if was about the simplest of things.
As a couple communicating with multiple vendors, David was one of the best, if not the best vendor we had the pleasure of working with.
My now husband and I never felt like we were just “another couple planning a wedding” when interacting with David. He made our wedding feel personal from the moment we started working together.
We had a LOT of different ideas for how we could incorporate some family traditions and fun/unique ideas into our day and David was ALL about it. He thrives on making weddings feel very personal/customized and not “just another wedding.”
One of the most impressive parts about David’s service was something we didn’t know about until the wedding was over- David actually worked very closely with my mom and dad to coordinate music and other details for my dad’s father of the bride speech.
My dad had a song written for us and planned out a little skit. David had multiple posters made with the lyrics and photos of our family on it, and coordinated all the details with my parents to ensure everything worked out perfectly for my dad’s speech.
It was perfect. In addition to all of the behind the scenes planning, the band itself was truly impeccable- so interactive with our wedding guests, incredibly talented and entertaining.
We still get compliments about our wedding band months and months later. Lastly, David himself was very active throughout the reception. This is something very unique to DRM- David isn’t on stage performing with the band, he is the emcee and facilitator throughout the night.
Again, without knowing it in the moment, David took photos and videos of the band, and us/our guests dancing, and sent these to us the next day.
We didn’t have our photographer/videographer stay for much of the dancing part of the reception, so the photos and videos that David took are some of the only footage we have from those hours of the night, which we will cherish forever.
All in all, choosing David and his team for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding day. Thank you David and team, so much, for helping us celebrate the best day of our lives!”

GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND!
“David and his band are truly amazing. You’re probably reading other reviews, thinking “sure, everyone says their band is amazing” – but no, David is truly in a league of his own. First off, David is essentially a wedding planner on his own – throughout the planning process, David proactively reached out to us to check in and guided us through not just band-specific questions, but also answering other questions we had about the wedding. In terms of the band during the Reception – I mean, just WOW.
Every single musician, from the incredible vocalists, to the DJ who could also rap, to the percussionist on the Bongo drums who also played the Violin, and everyone in between was just SO TALENTED.
At one point, the horn section came onto the dance floor and really got the dancing jumpstarted again! It feels like half of my guests came up to me individually to tell me how amazing the band was – both during the wedding and after, and the compliments continue to trickle in.
If I could have my wedding again, I’d hire David in a heartbeat – my husband and I keep reliving it – through photos and videos that David has sent us! While we are waiting for our professional pictures and videos, it is so wonderful to have all the content that David captured to relive our special night.
He provided templates and potential timelines to help us think through our day, and scheduled time to go over them with us. On the day of the wedding, his band was absolutely spectacular – we had a Jazz Trio during cocktail hour, who set the mood perfectly, and were extremely talented.
When it came time to move from Cocktail Hour to the Reception for dinner, David acted as wedding planner, helping to gently guide people into the room to find their seats. He then became the most eloquent MC, first introducing us to “Everlasting Love” and then guiding us to our cake cutting to “How Sweet it is” (his suggestion). In addition, for each speech, he not only introduced the speaker, but was waiting for them afterwards with a glass of champagne.
You may have seen that David likes to do something special for his couples – he is truly SO thoughtful. Our last name is Armor, and my husband is a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan – David got a real steel helmet (from a suit of armor) for us and had all of our guests sign it! It is truly something we will treasure forever.
Not only that, but David recommended that we seal the helmet, and for several days afterwards, has sent suggestions on the best sealant to use, even going so far as to go to Home Depot and ask for me! If you can’t tell, the theme here is that David always goes above and beyond.”

“One word – INCREDIBLE! We first heard of David Rothstein through a friend who used them at their wedding, and he did not disappoint.

MOST PACKED DANCE FLOOR
We highly recommend picking The David Rothstein Band for your wedding or event!! We did a lot of research before choosing a band, and we would choose them again in an instant if we had to do it again! First, the band is incredible. We had people on the dance floor all night long (even when the room lights were on brighter than they should’ve been).
My family and friends are very tough critics when it comes to live music, and so many of our guests went out of their way to tell us how much they loved the band. The venue employees also kept mentioning how it was the most packed dance floor they’d ever seen.
David and his team were so easy to work with and helped extensively with planning the timeline and logistics – we opted not to use a wedding planner and David made it so easy for us!
I also highly recommend going with the ‘dancing between courses’ schedule – it creates such fun momentum for guests and dancing and David worked well with our food/venue with timing. Can’t recommend them enough!! Thanks David Rothstein Band!

We worked with David and his team to provide the ceremony music, along with cocktail hour and reception music, for our wedding in July 2022. From our very first interaction with David, we were impressed. For dinner/reception our emcee (Brian) was great! He accommodated last minute changes with introductions and got the guests excited. And the band even worked with my MOHs to incorporate music into their speech, which was a total surprise and absolutely hilarious. The reception was a blast!!
The dance floor was PACKED the entire time, which is exactly what we wanted. We asked guests to add a song request on their RSVP card and the band gave special shout outs to certain guests before playing- such a sweet touch! They also accommodated our “must play” song list between the band and DJ sets.
We have received countless reviews and compliments about DRM from our guests and it was by far the BEST decision we made for our wedding. Serve pizza for dinner if you have to, hiring DRM is worth it!!!
