Low to No Cost Wedding Events to Look out for

Wedding flowers

Engagement season just ended, which means wedding season is right around the corner. The stress of planning a wedding can be daunting, but luckily there are events that will help a bride and her team in the planning process and won’t break the bank. Chicago is a great place to hold your wedding, and there are plenty of events and things to do in the area, including a number of wedding shows and expos, that can provide you with information and resources to help you pull off your dream day.

The Complete Wedding Expo Bridal Show

This event takes place on March 18th, and provides brides with 4 free tickets for you and your team to enjoy an afternoon filled with complimentary food, cake samples, and a fashion show. With over 50 wedding vendors, like Chicago wedding bands, caterers and photographers, brides will have the chance to learn and be inspired for the big day. As an added bonus, there’s a chance to win a honeymoon to Cancun! Why not check it out?

Pinstripes Northbrook Wedding Show

Pinstripes, a bistro and bowling alley in Northbrook, is hosting a wedding show on March 24th with a focus on receptions and rehearsal dinners. Brides can tour the ballrooms and talk to wedding vendors while enjoying complimentary hors d’oeuvres. The event is free, but space is limited so be sure to register if you plan on attending.

What to Wear..to the Royal Wedding!

Have you already attended your fair share of wedding shows? If so, this might be something you want to check out. The event is a lecture by author Debra N. Mancoff who writes about culture, art, fashion and how these 3 areas intertwine. With the anticipation of the royal wedding this spring, the lecture will talk about conventional wedding wear and the biggest fashion flops since Queen Victoria. You can attend this event for free on April 25th at the Newberry Library.

Wedding Recycle Event

If you’re planning your wedding and have a strict budget in mind, the wedding recycle event might be just right to help you stay within your goal, and maybe even save! On May 5th at Stan Mansion, the event will provide a space for individuals to buy and sell preowned wedding items including decor, jewelry, and dresses. If you’re interested in selling gently-used wedding items, you can reserve a table for $35, and get to keep 100% of the profit. If you and your friends just want to shop for the day, it costs $5 with an early access option for $10.

Wedding Weekend 2018

This 3 day event, from June 8th-10th, will provide insight for all your wedding needs. The Wedding Network has created a weekend long event packed with fun activities for brides and their loved ones. The weekend starts with a kick-off party and fashion show to celebrate. On day 2, the wedding olympics will take place where teams can compete in games such as a cupcake eating contest and bouquet toss. The grand finale is a day for brides to meet with over 40 wedding experts and shop the wedding garage sale. There will be prizes given out throughout the weekend, with a surprise grand prize at the end. Tickets range from free to $60 to attend just one event, or stay for the weekend.
