This is our Jazz Trio (Piano, Bass, and Sax) which plays for your Cocktail Hour. They are separate from the ceremony musicians. After cocktails are over they will become part of the full band.  The Jazz Trio plays background jazz music which allows you and your guests to relax and socialize comfortably while the trio plays. We’ll bring our keyboard. They will start playing as soon as the guests walk into the cocktail room.  Cocktails are usually 1 hour but can be extended to an extra 1/2 hour if you need it. It’s the very first impression the guests will have of your wedding reception.

Whether you are hosting your cocktail hour at your ceremony venue, reception venue, having music to entertain your guests will always be welcome and will set the tone for the rest of the celebration.

Keep in mind that your cocktail hour music should be in the background and should not overpower conversation, but it can be at a slightly higher volume than your background dinner music.

While jazz and swing music generally works particularly well as pre-reception music, the type of wedding music played during your cocktail hour will depend greatly on the vibe you’re trying to create. They trio can perform pop music as well as any ethnic too.

These are separate musicians than those who play for your Chicago Wedding Ceremony. The ceremony musicians will continue playing until all the guests have left the ceremony room. In the meantime, the jazz trio will start playing as soon as your guests enter the cocktail area. This will keep a smooth transition between your ceremony and cocktail hour!
