People tend to use their wedding day as motivation to develop healthy habits for looking and feeling their best. While it’s great for you to want to be your best self for your wedding day, you shouldn’t abandon these habits once you’ve made it through the event. As one of the busiest Chicago wedding bands, we have to take great care of ourselves before providing you with the perfect ceremony and reception music! Here are some healthy habits that we want to share with you to help you look and feel amazing on your wedding day that you can continue to incorporate into your newly-married life.

Develop a Skin and Hair Care Routine

It’s no secret that having shiny hair and glowing skin can take any wedding photo to the next level, which is why so many couples try to find some sort of beauty regimen to stick to before the ceremony. Before you start following the first routine that you find on the internet, you have to assess what problems you have with your skin and hair and figure out what you need to do to fix them. Someone who has drier skin will have a different skincare routine than someone who has oily skin. Similarly, someone who has naturally straight hair will have a different hair care routine than someone who has naturally curly or coily hair. You’ll have to do some research to find what steps and products are going to make you shine bright on your big day.

Regardless of your skin type, you should always wash your face two times a day and apply moisturizer and sunscreen. These steps are universal and will keep the skin looking young and supple. Although there aren’t too many universal hair care tips, everyone should be sure to wash their hair when it’s dirty. Try using a personalized shampoo to make sure that your hair is being taken care of.

Eat a Healthy Diet

Most people will try to adopt new eating habits to make themselves both physically and mentally ready to take on the hectic day that is their wedding. The benefits of eating healthy are endless, from weight management to helping you sleep better to improving your mood so you can better enjoy one of the biggest days of your life. It’s important to remember that choosing to eat healthily is a lifetime commitment, and these habits you develop before the wedding should continue after the wedding as well. Rather than trying to completely change the way you eat, which can be challenging for most people, try to find a maintainable diet program to help you become used to eating better. This way you’ll have the space to gradually learn how to make the healthiest food choices possible.

Take Dance Lessons

Your first dance as a married couple is a wonderful moment that introduces your new relationship to the world. You’ll never forget the moment when your Chicago wedding band plays that perfect song for your first dance. Lots of couples prepare for this by taking some sort of dance lessons to make the dance memorable for both themselves and their guests. But there’s no reason to stop taking lessons just because you’ve nailed the big performance. There are plenty of health benefits to ballroom dancing, including toning your muscles, improving your brain health, and boosting your self-confidence. It’s also a great way to maintain chemistry with your spouse. To top it all off, dancing is a great way to support local businesses. If you live in the Chicago area, there are plenty of great dance studios for you to choose from!

Your wedding day is a great encouragement to start living a healthier lifestyle, but don’t let it stop there. The habits you form while preparing for your big day—whether it be taking care of your skin, eating better, or being more active—can lead to a long and healthy life that you get to spend with the love of your life.
